Song Sparrow

Song Sparrows are common throughout our region. They stay low to the ground in shrub cover most of the time. Their song is beautiful and instantly recognizable once you know it.

Steller’s Jay

A very tame Steller’s Jay in our backyard. It appeared to be sunning itself, trying different locations and positions.

Spread eagled on the back fence… or rather “spread jayed.”

Eurasian Collared-Dove

This Eurasian Collared-Dove was seen east of Alderton, Washington atop a utility pole on Riverside Road at 88th St. E.

Western Scrub Jay

A Western Scrub Jay at a backyard feeder in our yard in November 2006. I had just pulled in the driveway and happened to have my camera on the seat next to me.
